ALL About Versatility

Since becoming a mom, and especially a mom of a toddler, I’ve really become more mindful of my makes. Don’t get me wrong, ya girl loves loud prints and special occasion pieces and always will. BUT, I’ve learned (or currently learning) to spend time making pieces I’ll get a lot of wear out of. I feel like more often than not I dress casual. My job doesn’t require typical/traditional work attire so I find myself pulling the same things from my closet to wear. While there’s a time and place for my date night clothes the truth is, I don’t get as much wear out of those makes. SO, when I saw this fabric from JOANN I knew it was perfect. It’s one of my favorite “fall colors” and I love that it’s so lightweight. Tennessee can stay straight up hot through October and so I really love things that look like fall but feel like summer.

This was a fabric before pattern project for me. I originally thought of making a long cardigan, but when I saw the McCalls pattern #M8003 I fell in love and totally scrapped, or at least, put my cardi on the back burner. AND I”M SO GLAD I DID.

This bodysuit is everything. I’m a huge fan of bodysuits- as it’s just flattering in my opinion. Plus it’s nice when lugging around and chasing an almost 2 year old. You might be able to tell I’m frazzled by my face, but at least my shirt doesn’t get disheveled ya feel? Hah

It went together easily. I went with the size 8 for reference and it fits like a glove.

A bodycon skirt takes all of about 10 minutes including cut time so it simply had to be done. I live for a good set. It’s fun to wear together or wear them separately. I’ve already worn both pieces 1,209,098 and counting!
