Fun with the fringe

I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely love reading about all the new upcoming fashion trends at the beginning of each season.

Typically when I see trends, at least the bolder trends (for example, Fanny Packs) I think to myself, "I don't know about this one. I don't ever see myself in that." Then, about 5 minutes later I think it's the best trend maybe ever! That's what I love about fashion. It's always evolving and it's fun try try new things.

I was reading this Harper Bazaar's article "10 spring/summer 2018 fashion trends to start wearing now" (Linked here). I LOVE IT ALL. I now have so many design ideas in my head that my project list is at an all-time high. Where to begin? Fringe.

I decided to keep it pretty minimal at first in case I decided midway that fringe wasn't for me. I thought the best way to go about it was to modify something I already liked. There's nothing worse than spending tons of money on fabric and 108 hours of time, only to put on the finished product and hate it.

I decided to start my fringe journey with a jacket. Denim jackets are all the rage right now, so I figured it would be a good place to start. I found this black denim jacket on Amazon (linked Here). Bought some leather fringe trim from Joann's Fabric (not online) and of course, I'm getting some patches (linked here).

I love the way it turned out! Such an easy project. I'm thinking of adding some additional patches :)
