We’re in the home stretch of this pregnancy which means anything I want to make at this point has to have a dual purpose: Pregnancy and post pregnancy. Which surprisingly, isn’t as difficult as you might think. I’m all about layering pieces anyway so that’s exactly what I decided to do. I fell in love with this fabric from JOANN (linked here) It’s a simplistic, chic, cotton fabric and knew it would be so easy to wear now, post pregnancy and with this ever changing hot and cooler Tennessee weather.
As you might expect, a lot of my projects lately are easy. Shocker right? Turns out this belly can get in the way and slow me down. But who doesn’t love a one day one and done project? I know I do! There’s something so super satisfying about starting and finishing a project in the same day, and loving the result.
I went with Simplicity’s pattern 8467 View “D”( linked here) and left off the sleeves. We’re still
pretty warm here in Tennessee and I could always layer it with a chunky sweater when the
weather drops.
This went together very quick obviously and highly recommend this project for beginners.
Honestly, it’s little layering pieces like this that really get the most wear. It’s just an easy way to change up your look paired with a dress, jeans and sweater, or dress down with yoga pants a baggy tee and tennis shoes.
I loved so many of the cotton plaid fabrics that I may have to go back and get more. Maybe whip up a matching baby onsie??
