I’m calling this jumpsuit the Modern Pretty woman. If you saw my Instagram post you know this fabric spoke to me, truly. The second I saw it I knew I had to bring it home without having any ideas as to what to make with it. I bought 4 yards even though my go to is 3 when I’m buying fabric JUST CAUSE, and I’m so thankful I went with the extra yard because I used every inch of it.
This sat in my closet from March - half of July. I went back and forth with patterns before finding Vogue’s V1708 and it just clicked. I saw some ladies on Instagram ROCK this pattern and that sealed the deal for me.
I love a good full/wide leg, but wasn’t crazy about just how WIDE leg this particular pattern was, but knew that was an easy fix. I went with my typical size (8 for reference) and in hindsight wish I would have gone down a full size. I slimmed the legs by 4 inches and it ended up being exactly what I wanted. I just kind of guessed, but with such a basic pant that’s pretty easy to do.
Overall, the pattern went together well. Took a bit longer than I had hoped, but in the end it was totally worth it. I believe polka dots are just such a classic look and think I will get a lot of wear out of this for years to come!
